Bollywood Crush: Fashion, Music, ... etc

I remeber the exact moment when I was formally introduced to the Bollywood scene was when I was at my local beauty salon. My hairstylist loves to watch Sopa Operas, Hatian Movies, and African movies. I for one never cared for Sopa Operas let alone American sopa operas. They always seem over the top and unrealistic for my taste life does not come with a dramatic soundtrack and revovle around twenty people living in a small town. The vibrant colors of their attire caught my attention at first and the romantic story line followed the show was called Kitani Mohabbat Hai and I fell in love with the main characters like America fell in love Rose&Jack, Edward&Bella, but this time it was Ahori&Arjun. But what amaze me throughout the whole tv series is that they never actually kissed on screen, and there was 175 episodes !!! In this heavily over-sexaulized society we like to see that magical kiss or passionate scene between the two star-crossed lovers. But I realized that isn't always need to keep your viewers hooked. It was the simple art of true courtship that I admire between the two characters. Though it is in Hindi english subtitles are provided. Here's a preview...

Relaxed vs. Natural : What #Team are you ?

       My hair is relaxed and I love it! Excuse me for the excitement but I spent most of my childhood and early teenage years natural. At the age of fourteen was the first time I relaxed my hair with my mother's permission. As a kid I noticed that most of my friends had relaxed hair at a very young age and I use to envy their hairdos believing they receive more attention from the opposite sex because of their beautiful straight hair. If was up to me personally I would have relaxed my hair a long time ago. I thank my mom for not relaxing my hair at an early age allowing me to enjoy my hair. Going natural is a personal decision and is anyone one right to freely do so but I feel that one of the reasons most women are going back to natural is because they did not get to enjoy their natural hair as a child. I had fourteen long years and I'm over it. When I was getting my hair at the salon I was so elated and ready for the new various hairstyles to come with my new found texture. ~Post you comments and pics below ~

Why So Surprised?

While watching the preview to Vh1's Basketball Wives next episode something that Tami said ringed aloud to me. Tami stated that in her "hood" get your ass beat you shut your mouth about it and go home. But the thing is none of these ladies are no longer living in the hood and they are way past the age for a scuffle in the school yard. Last week Evelyn talk about the possible consequences of if the wine bottle she threw at Kenya had actually hit her. For a second you would think that she was actually reflecting on her obscene animalistic behavior towards the other girls, and how she could have experienced grave consequences such as being arrested and charged with a misdemeanor or worst. Its no surprised that Jennifer filed a lawsuit against Nia for assaulting her. I'm not say I'm #Team_Jennifer but I not don't support fighting at any age. I'll admit that it is inevitable in life not to get into a heated situation where you may have to defend yourself. But I do not condone someone deliberately getting up to slap someone. Just like mama said don't get up and hit other people children!!! If you want to touch someone touch yourself or your man. All I'm saying is don't be surprised when someone slaps you with a lawsuit.At the end of the day American law reigns supreme over hood. You should know how to compose yourself as a lady. Poppin' off ain't always cute especially how crazy Nia hair was looking like a wig almost. That side part was too far sweetie as her employer Ev would say "Its Leanin". At the end of the day these ladies need a reality in the law department cause that lawsuit really "Gon check ya Boo."

#Confession 2 Ep.2 "I Use to be a Hispanic Woman"

When I was in grade I identified myself and felt more accepted in the Hispanic culture. I was immersed in their mannerism, fashion, and food but most of all I loved their hair. For a long time I've been attracted  to Latino men and the sex appeal certain Latina women exuded. I wanted that same attention I saw the girls with the black raven-haired girls received every time they played with their hair and the boys just drooled and watched. Even when their hair seemed messy it still presented it self like mysterious sensuous wave. So I did what any capable women would do I invested in hair extensions or weaves, whatever your cup of tea. My longest extensions I ever installed where "24 inches by Indique Hair~Pure Wavy. The feeling of rich long hair had alas found me so I continued to indulge in it. Besides hair, during my preteen to teenage years all I dated was Latin brothers and a dash of brown sugar here and there. I guess you can say I'm down with the swirl. But hey some them remember the art of romancing a woman an art most men (eeh 'em) have forgotten! Most of my middle school years and little bit of high school I had a circle or Latin friends. Though I never learned to master the Spanish language there was always someone there to translate. I even hosted a little quinceanera for myself; in my room of course my mom would never spend that kind of money. But at the end of the day I learned that no matter what I would still be the black girl among a group of chicas. So I had learn to love my shoulder-length hair and black culture. No more dreaming of long Pocahontas hair only Indian Remy. Lol, never said I was going to stop installing hair~#Team_Extensions
